About Us
Rosy Hue Photography is a creative company specializing in family and event photography. The idea of "Rosy" was created a few short months after the birth of my son, Houston, when I realized I was taking literally thousands of pictures of my new little model on a monthly basis. When Leah Rose came along, Rosy Hue (a combination of "Leah Rose" and "Houston") became a reality with one mission: to show the public just how "rosy" life could be!
Rosy Hue Photography is a team, and you'll notice that when I'm blogging, I'll often refer to "us." It's a habit that I can't quit, so I've just learned to embrace the variable tenses, despite how much it pains my English major heart.
About Danielle
Initially a self-taught photographer, I have taken advanced photography coursework and work very hard to combine my love of beautiful, candid, natural images with the patience and creativity that comes with several years teaching at the elementary school level.
When I'm not taking pictures, you can find me curled up with a good book and a glass of wine, rolling around on the floor with one (or likely both) of my favorite little minions, or tooling around Concord on the hunt for fun, vintage photo props for the studio. Speaking of Concord, I have lived here my entire life minus 4 years in Durham for college (go Wildcats!) where I studied English and Education. I even met my husband, my high school sweetheart, right here in my hometown. I am a strong supporter of local events and small businesses. I do the majority of my photo printing in town and love to support other local, crafty mamas.
About Justin
Justin is the practicality and muscle behind Rosy Hue. He's the one helping keep my cameras charged, fixing my equipment glitches, building sets and serving as a sounding board for my next big idea. He's often taking the brunt of my constant, "Which do you like better - this edit? Or this edit?"and he's often shuttling the kids around when I'm off on a shoot.
When Justin isn't being used for his muscles or his business sense, he's probably off hiking in the woods of New Hampshire, watching YouTube videos about hiking, or reading books about hiking. He and Houston are working on a very cool "hiking" project together that we hope to share previews of with you, too!
About Houston
Houston is ten years old and tearing up the fourth grade scene (and by "tearing up" I mean, probably sitting quietly and learning how to read and write, and occasionally telling his teacher his latest inappropriate joke). Houston is a lot like his mama in many ways, number one being his resistance to be in front of the camera. He does however enjoy copious amounts of Roblox, karate and bike riding.
About Leah
Leah is seven years old and loves everything dance, nail polish and jewelry. Justin and I are still wondering where she came from. Unlike her brother, Leah loves being in front of the camera and often serves as my mini assistant in the studio: testing lighting, scenery, and modeling for my various marketing campaigns. When she's not helping in the studio, Leah enjoys baking cookies in her Easy Bake oven, toting around two life-like babies (Roger and Hunter) and reading the same book - over and over again.
